Why I quit my Job- You can't teach an Old dog New ways

This is my third time being employed and I think this is my best job yet.

There is something to be said about experience being the best teacher and let me tell you, through the joblessness of 2016-2017. My learned resolve is a great motivator.

However, I was not so resolute before  but quitting my job that first time was a good idea. I regret leaving the company, it had great perks but my boss was the worst boss ever.
granted my first boss could have been an angel that walked this earth. Someday, I am gonna write a story about Suresh. He was a "mhindi", was very respectful, such a leader and a revolutionary. i admired him greatly; the number of times he called me into his office to teach me stuff- i joked being adopted by him. I made it clear I was no corporate buff; he allowed me to speak my mind without decorum and the one time my "supervisor " reported me for giving him an ultimatum on email- he only gave me a blank stare. The last time he left, i thought my heart was breaking. Someday, i am gonna write a story about Suresh- a different kind of mhindi- for his sake, I never had any stereotypes of muhindis despite their bad name.

My second boss was the straw that broke the donkey's back. he's the person who led me to quit. And I don't regret adding the stain to his track record; during his tenure there was numerous downsizing and employee turnover. He suited the saying; "A bad workman quarrels with his tools"
Oh my my! the thought of the monster makes my blood run cold. As a field person; I had numerous out of office assignments  and would make 2/3 days in my office, twice did I find that he had relocated my office without any notice to me or consultation. So many times he insulted me in front of my colleagues and once I broke down in tears in his office as he was harrasing me; all this while teaming up with the HR. Twice I resigned from the job and only retracted once.

My second boss rained hell and brimstone on me and it forced me to reevaluate my value to the company. I believe I was paid significantly less than a colleague who had been there longer and supposedly "my supervisor" who competed with me rather than supervise, I worked with more hardship; as opposed to my colleague who had a car to go about with; i was forced to use a matatu to go about business and meet targets, the money to be reimbursed was then streamlined to exclude "Lunch" which Suresh above had added to my package for hardship. When I fell pregnant; there was no lateral move/ opportunity for me in the office.
The reasons I quit: a bad boss, a hostile environment( although i never said it before, my supervisor indeed sexually harassed me at work at least twice, yet he was the meanest), and no opportunity for career growth.
It was an old company, set in its ways with bureaucracy.

A good thing that came off this: I had time reevaluate myself ; my strengths & weakness and to know what my experience brought to the table in a new place.
Needless to say; I am happier at my new place.( a story for another day)
